- Le Thi Phuong: “Smart Cities in the AI Era”
o Le Thi Phuong provided an overview of the development of smart cities in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). Her presentation highlighted how AI can optimize urban infrastructure, enhance the quality of life for residents, and bring about revolutionary changes in urban management. - Nguyen Duy Tong: “Ocean Wave Energy for Sustainable Development and Net-Zero Emissions: Progress in the Modeling and Performance Estimation for a Promising L-Shaped Oscillating Water Column WEC”
o This research introduced a novel approach to harnessing ocean wave energy, contributing to sustainable development and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The presentation emphasized the potential of the L-Shaped Oscillating Water Column (WEC) system in efficiently converting wave energy into electricity. - Le Nguyen: “Green Approach to Cryolite Crystallization: Utilizing Scrap Aluminum for Efficient Fluorine Recovery”
o Le Nguyen’s research focused on the process of cryolite crystallization from scrap aluminum, effectively recycling fluorine while minimizing environmental impact. This represents a significant step forward in applying green and sustainable solutions within the chemical industry. - Phung Van Bang: “Application of AI in Earthquake Engineering and Natural Hazards”
o Phung Van Bang discussed the application of AI in earthquake engineering and natural hazard mitigation. AI not only aids in accurately predicting earthquake events but also supports planning and preparedness, thereby reducing damage to communities and infrastructure.

During the conference, VNEAT had the opportunity to listen to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s reflections and vision for the development of science and technology in Vietnam. The Prime Minister underscored the crucial role of the overseas Vietnamese community in contributing their intellect and resources to Vietnam’s sustainable development. This serves as a significant motivation for VNEAT to continue its efforts, leverage its capabilities, and seize opportunities to contribute to the homeland.

The conference also provided VNEAT with the chance to connect with leading researchers from various fields around the world. These meetings and discussions opened up new opportunities for collaboration, enabling VNEAT to learn from and access cutting-edge technological trends while strengthening its position in the global scientific community.
Side events and cooperation opportunities:
In addition to the main activities, VNEAT representatives had the chance to meet and exchange ideas with officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. The discussions focused on high-interest topics such as semiconductor technology and AI. Notably, VNEAT visited the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, which is expected to become a hub for innovation and technological development in Vietnam. Through these engagements, VNEAT hopes to explore new cooperation opportunities, contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s semiconductor technology sector.
