In a highly significant move that marks a major stride towards fostering and promoting a culture of cross-border collaboration and the exchange of knowledge, the Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance (SIA) and the Vietnamese Expert Association in Taiwan (VNEAT) have come together to ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The official signing ceremony took place on March 1st, 2024, at the headquarter of the Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance.
The Southeast Asia Impact Alliance (SIA) takes the lead in aiding Taiwanese and Vietnamese enterprises and investors in the high-tech sector, particularly in semiconductors. In 2023, SIA has lined up a series of initiatives to foster the growth of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry. These include promoting investments, facilitating technology transfer, and offering training to cultivate top-notch human resources. While VNEAT is a Vietnamese expert community based in Taiwan, officially recognized by the Ministry of Interior (Taiwan) in 2021. It is the first association of its kind. Since its establishment, VNEAT has had substantial accomplishments, such as hosting the VNEAT five-minute talk competition, publishing the VNEAT science and technology proceedings, and sending its experts to attend prominent conferences. With advantages from both sides, VNEAT is confident that this partnership between the two organizations will greatly benefit the Vietnamese community in Taiwan.
The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Dang Thanh Chung, Manager at SIA, and Dr. Phung Van Bang, President of VNEAT. The signing was accomplished under the watchful eyes of Mr. CY Huang, the visionary founder of SIA, and Distinguished Professor Yue-An Liou, the honorary president of VNEAT. Representatives from both SIA and VNEAT were also present to bear witness to this historical event.
This MoU, a document of great importance, aims to build stronger and more robust connections between the two organizations. It marks the beginning of a journey of partnership, one filled with collaboration, cooperation, and mutual growth. The main focus of this partnership is the fostering of industry-academia collaboration, creating and nurturing communities for Vietnamese experts, setting up networking events for professional interaction, and encouraging exchange programs between universities, research institutions, and businesses in Taiwan and Vietnam.
Based on principles of equality and mutual benefit, this MoU represents a commitment to mutual growth and the realization of shared goals. It becomes effective immediately and will remain in place, guiding the collaborative efforts of the two organizations, for a period of two years.
This strategic partnership, an important milestone, marks a significant move towards boosting collaboration and knowledge exchange between the Vietnamese communities in Taiwan. It opens up new and exciting paths for innovative projects and rewarding interactions within the realms of industry and academia. This collaboration is an indication of the promising future that lies ahead for both organizations and the communities they represent.
